everyday i'm inspired by someone or something, and most of the time, it's either a woman or a project created by a woman. i respect the determination and intelligence of amy goodman, admire the life-long activism of yuri kochiyama, and love the accessibility of bell hooks' scholarship. she may be a fictional character, but i also value the rebellious independence and creativity embodied by pippi longstocking!

while i'm no advocate of hero(ine) worship, i like to think this constant inspiration keeps me moving in the right direction, keeping my creative and intellectual juices flowing.

in exploring our collective experience through writing, i hope that this blog project will encourage us all to continue to be inspired by the everyday amazingness of women, including you and me. friends, new and old, we welcome you! we're so glad you're here and eagerly look forward to reading your writes.
